Eureka! I think that I have found it!

I think that have found almost a general meaning for the word 'Music'...

Music is the language of those that can't be told using only words (this must encompass the instrumental genre properly), Music also has the property of being an imperative 'pseudo-language', It's like its contents in someway are like giving orders to the listener about the way of how he must become to feel, it's like something subconsciously respond to each specifical sequence of notes in differents manners.

I like and enjoy listening to music when it is sad or with a deeply emotional content as well, something that happens when I listen to those kind of music is like a feeling or emotion that's hard to explain with words I think

also I hacve found two links that I consider interesting:

I wonder if we can make music from those things that we can't say or express with only spoken language, like deeply emotions, for me would be very cool being able to do this.. but sadly I dunno how.. but I question if it's possible...

Maybe we can share ideas for how to develop that program further. Look at the screenshot of it. It is pretty interesting and mouth-watering for a creative sound-programmer.

For example, how should such an interface look like to be optimal for intuitive and creative use? I can think of a control to adjust the "color" of the music -- blue for a bit calm, cool music, red for hotter, warmer and more intense music, and so on. Then you can find your blend by choosing on a color palette.

We can also share ideas for how the program could be made to produce certain kinds of music. For example, someone mentioned Beatles. Well, I envisioned it as more suitable for ambient kind of music, but who knows?

I would personally like to see if you can build functionality in it to produce meditation music. I then mean music that is unobtrusive, trance inducing and very relaxing.

As food for thought, these guys: http://www.trance.ch/ have studied the topology of trance states -- what it is that induces trance, how to use music to achieve it and so on. The basic idea is that trance is induced by repeating loops of sound structures. In hypnosis there are also techniques for trance induction, like confusion, distraction, engaging the mind in two activities at once, and so on.

One interesting venue is to see how much the left-right brain phenomena can be used for achieving meditation states. As we know, there are already those "trance machines" using different frequencies on each channel of the headphones to affect the brain sync. I believe this can be taken further into the field of music.

These are just some little idea seeds that maybe someone could cultivate further. This may inspire Magnus to start building on this program again. Or if he has no time, maybe others can help him. There may even be a significant new field of artistic expression waiting to be explored here. And by the way, you could make good money on it, perhaps.

I am ready to buy it if it can produce good meditation/trance/hypnosis music that really works. I am ready to pay around €500 for such a program. I need background music for my self-hypnosis CDs that I produce in my work as a hypnotherapist. Royalties are too expensive for self-employed therapists and the like, and they are a drag to administrate.

I am very demanding though. Is it even possible to make the randomusic program able to produce such kind of music? Well, use me as a guinea-pig -- when I prefer to use your program instead of the stuff I use now, then you have won.

This site: http://www.ambient-nights.org/ has around 50 hours of free downloadable good ambient music mp3s, that contain some of the music people like me often use.

Yes, it was a while ago I was working with it. I haven't really had time to do anything for a couple of years now. I have been thinking about it though and have a lot of ideas for improvement.

It is very encouraging to hear that you liked it.

I really enjoyed these . . . it has been some time since this has been in development. Can you update on the status?

The "Excentric Japanese" left me wanting to relax and hear more, as I did other things.

Say Magnus, We enjoyed this music. As I mentioned to you the other day I have a close friend who built a synthesizer in 1977 ish... One of the modules was a 'random generator.' It could be used for rhythm or melody (etc.) and combinations of such. Sincerely, MissouriRick

Magnus these are great, fantastic...
I couldn't have told that all this was done by a creative software :) It's nice to see how fast research is going on the AI field.
Keep up the good work :)

Hej Magnus,
